Media Statement on the Executive Order to Fill the Strategic Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients Reserve (SAPIR) with Critical Drug Components

Cencora supports the Trump Administration’s Executive Order aimed at ensuring a resilient pharmaceutical supply chain for essential medicines.  
 
As a leader in pharmaceutical supply chain operations and distribution, Cencora is committed to advancing solutions that will create stability for our nation’s pharmaceutical products and ensure all healthcare providers have timely and reliable access to the medications their patients need. Continued collaboration, dialogue and action-based solutions with stakeholders across the industry is needed in order to effectively address the complex, multi-faceted issue of drug shortages. We support initiatives that enhance supply stability and improve resilience and are focused on partnering with the right stakeholders to strengthen the supply chain and protect patient access.  
 
In alignment with that commitment, we plan to invest hundreds of millions of dollars over the next several years to bolster and expand our distribution network in the United States, fortifying our supply chain to support our customers’ growing needs and allow patients to access the medicines they need, where and when they need them. This is a continuation of decades of investment in our network to strengthen our ability to improve product access, increase supply chain efficiencies and enhance patient care.
