Today, Cencora Romania is one of Europe's largest pharmaceutical wholesalers and distributors. However, this is not how we started our journey. The following pivotal moments mark our legacy, adapting to better serve healthcare needs across Romania.
1996
Farmexpert is founded by Dr. Eugen Banciu.
2006
60% of Farmexpert shares are bought by Andreae Noris Zahn AG (ANZAG).
2010
The British Alliance Boots Group takes 81.64% of ANZAG shares. Farmexpert opens a new central warehouse in Chitila.
2013
ANZAG becomes Alliance Healthcare Deutschland, member of Alliance Boots as a result of the full acquisition by Alliance Boots. Alliance Healthcare Deutschland (ANZAG) takes over Farmexpert.
2014
Walgreens Boots Alliance is formed through the full combination of Walgreens and Alliance Boots.
2015
Farmexpert is a member of Walgreens Boots Alliance, the world leader in the pharmaceutical and beauty industry.
2016
Alphega Pharmacy brand is launched in Romania.
2017
Alloga is launched in Romania.
2019
Farmexpert rebrands to Alliance Healthcare.
2021
AmerisourceBergen acquires Alliance Healthcare.
2023
AmerisourceBergen is renamed Cencora.
2026
Alliance Healthcare Romania continues its integration with Cencora.
