- JCAs are rapidly expanding in scope. Applied to new oncology medicines and ATMPs since January 2025, with orphan medicines and medical technology joining soon, marking a significant shift in European health technology evaluation.
- RWE's role remains contested and underdefined. Despite its growing importance, real-world evidence has seen limited use in JCAs to date, with PICO selection proving especially complex as clients determine where RWE fits alongside traditional clinical trial data.
- Strategic planning is critical for navigating what comes next.
