Media Statement on Current Operations in Eastern Europe

As a global healthcare company, we take our responsibility to protect the international supply chain, serve our customers and patients, and make timely decisions seriously. As the conflict in Ukraine continues, our priority has been – and will remain – to put the health of all team members and patients first. Operations in the Ukraine are currently suspended to ensure the safety of our team members, partners and customers. The remainder of our businesses are experiencing little to no operational impact. In the event of any type of business disruption, AmerisourceBergen has active and thorough global business continuity plans designed to help us continue the operation of critical business functions to avoid interruptions and ensure supply chain stability. For specific updates about World Courier, which maintains operations across Europe, please visit www.worldcourier.com/russia-ukraine.

AmerisourceBergen and Alliance Healthcare continue to work with governments, associations and partner organizations across Europe to understand and respond to the needs of Ukrainian authorities, including the facilitation of medical supplies to local healthcare facilities. We are also taking necessary and important steps to concentrate on ensuring that our team members in Ukraine are safe and supported.

Across our human health distribution network in the US, the AB supply chain management team is proactively working with non-profit partners that are on the ground in Ukraine and surrounding countries to help send needed supplies. We’ve heard from many partners that relief organizations have been overwhelmed with incoming donations, and we are working to assess what is needed most. Over the coming weeks we’ll continue to proactively engage with these partners and stay closely connected.

In alignment with AmerisourceBergen Foundation’s mission, a commitment of $500,000 in grant donations will be deployed to support organizations on the ground in Ukraine to provide care and relief to those impacted by this conflict, including Direct Relief to support their emergency response in and around Ukraine. The Foundation is also matching employee donations on a 2:1 basis to Direct Relief, International Committee of the Red Cross and the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund at GlobalGiving. As of April 21, 2022, more than $231,000 in donations and matches will be given in support of the humanitarian work taking place across Ukraine. The AB Foundation is committed to support relief efforts surrounding the Ukraine crisis over the long term. This donation is an initial  step in these efforts.
