Product manager spotlight

Vice President, Product Development

What did you study in school and what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I double majored in business and psychology in undergrad and have an MBA with a concentration in marketing. My career goal changed as I was growing up but through college, I thought I would end up in marketing. Regardless of the roles I’ve held over the past years, I find that my psychology degree has been incredibly beneficial as I work and collaborate across different teams and departments.
What strategies do you use to identify and prioritize customer needs when developing new products?
First and foremost is using customer feedback, whether through surveys, interviews, or discussions, to clearly understand what needs and the job to be done. Factors considered as part of prioritization is ease of build, size of market and need, organizational strategy, and value or impact to customer.
What product are you working on right now and why is it important?
The product I am working on is Dedicated Virtual Warehouse (DVW), which virtually sequesters product on behalf of our downstream customers. This product is important as it helps provide more transparency and inventory control, which ultimately helps support supply chain resiliency and product availability.

What did you study in school and what did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I began my journey as a pharmacy major but switched to computer information systems, driven by my desire to work in technology. I never imagined I could combine my passion for medicine and technology, and I feel fortunate to have had that opportunity through my career.
What skills and qualities do you believe are essential for success in the Product Manager role at Cencora?
Success as a Product Manager at Cencora hinges on balance and adaptability—equally prioritizing customer needs, business goals, strategic thinking, and practical execution. Effective communication and collaboration across diverse teams are vital to maintaining this balance and driving product innovation.
What product are you working on right now and why is it important?
I am currently working on our Short Dates & Special Buys solution. This program is uniquely positioned with our upstream pharma customers and our downstream health system customers to provide access to discounted medications whose expiration date is near through a simplified buying process, while also reducing supply chain waste for manufacturers.
